Refund Policy

Sean Studies LLC d/b/a Pillar Prep

Effective Date: June 7, 2026 | Last Updated: June 7, 2026

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can receive a refund from Sean Studies LLC d/b/a Pillar Prep (“Pillar Prep,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Two kinds of purchases are covered: the Retaker Course and Tutoring. Each has its own terms below.

1. The Retaker Course Score-Back Guarantee

In plain terms: if you complete the entire Course and follow your study plan, take every AAMC full-length exam scheduled in your plan, and none of those practice scores and not your actual MCAT exam beats your starting score, we will refund what you paid for the Course.

This guarantee rewards students who do the full program and still do not see their scores improve. It is not a prediction of improvement, and it is not a promise of any particular score.

Defined Terms

Eligibility: All of the Following Must Be Met

  1. Direct purchase. You purchased the Course directly from Pillar Prep, as a one-time payment or an installment plan, and your account is in good standing.
  2. Full completion. You completed 100% of your assigned Course study plan within the Platform.
  3. All scheduled full-lengths taken. You completed every In-Course Full-Length scheduled in your study plan.
  4. Practice scores stayed flat. None of your In-Course Full-Length scores exceeded your Baseline Score.
  5. Official exam taken and flat. You sat the official MCAT (your retake, or your first official MCAT if you had not taken it before), received your official AAMC score report, and that official total score also did not exceed your Baseline Score.

Documentation You Provide

To verify a claim, you agree to provide:

We may take reasonable steps to confirm that the requirements were met, including reviewing your activity and completion records in the Platform. Submitting altered, incomplete, or inaccurate documentation voids the guarantee.

How and When to Claim

You may file a claim once your official AAMC score report for the exam you sat after the Course has been released. To file, email sean@pillartestprep.com within 60 days of the date that score report is released, with the subject line “Score-Back Guarantee,” and attach the documentation above. We will review your claim and respond within 30 days. If your claim is approved, we will refund the full amount you paid us for the Course to your original payment method within 14 days of approval.

What the Guarantee Does and Does Not Cover

Upon issuing a refund under this guarantee, your access to the Course will end and any remaining installment obligations for the Course will be cancelled.

2. Course Subscriptions and General Cancellation

If the Course is offered to you and purchased as a recurring subscription, you may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing sean@pillartestprep.com. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Except where required by law or where you qualify under the score-back guarantee, amounts for a billing period that has already begun are not refundable. The score-back guarantee in Section 1 is calculated on the amounts you have actually paid for Course access.

3. Tutoring Refunds

Tutoring is not covered by the score-back guarantee. Instead, Tutoring purchases follow the session-based terms below, which carry forward the approach Pillar Prep has used since 2018. Refunds for unused Tutoring are calculated on a per-session basis at the per-session rate you paid.

To request a Tutoring refund, email sean@pillartestprep.com with your order details before the applicable limit above is reached. Approved Tutoring refunds are issued to your original payment method within 14 days.

4. Installment Plans

Paying by installment does not change your eligibility for any refund. All refunds, including under the score-back guarantee, are calculated on the amounts you have actually paid to us at the time of the refund. If you stop making scheduled installment payments, your access may be suspended or terminated, and suspension or termination for non-payment does not by itself create a refund right.

5. Chargebacks

If you believe you are owed a refund, please contact us first at sean@pillartestprep.com so we can help. Filing a payment-card chargeback or dispute without first contacting us, or in a way that bypasses the terms of this Policy, is a breach of the Terms of Service and may result in suspension of your account while the matter is reviewed.
